FLINTSHIRE residents will have the opportunity to save up to three lives by donating blood at a session held in Ewloe this month.

Welsh Blood is holding a donation calls in Ewloe on Wednesday, April 14.

The event will take place at the St David's Park Hotel off the St David's Park Interchange.

Two timeslots will run with donation sessions held between 12pm and 3pm and again from 4.30pm to 7pm.

Anyone aged between 17 and 66, weighing over 7st 12lbs and not subject to certain medical conditions can volunteer.

Donations are used in a variety of ways, from helping emergency operations and accident victims to cancer patients and premature babies.

The Leader previously reported that travelling to blood donation appointments is classed as essential under Welsh Government rules and guidance.
