SEXUAL predators, drug dealers and violent men were amongst the Wrexham and Flintshire criminals brought before the courts last month.
Justice has been served to many over March – with freshly sentenced crooks spending this Easter locked behind bars for their crimes.
The Leader has looked back at some of the court cases that have been featured in the paper this month following hearing at the region’s court buildings.
These are some of the criminals who were jailed by the courts in March:
NAME: Daniel Jordan Aston
AGE: 25
DATE: Wednesday, March 3
COURT: Mold Crown Court
CRIME: Possession of a knife
SENTENCE: 30 weeks in prison
WHAT THE JUDGE SAID: “The knife wasn't produced but it was found hidden in the belt of your trousers.”
PARAMEDICS discovered a man had a knife tucked into the waistband of his trousers as he was being treated in the back of an ambulance.
NAME: Maurice Taylor
AGE: 48
DATE: Wednesday, March 10
COURT: Mold Crown Court
CRIME: Public nuisance, racially aggravated harassment and assault.
SENTENCE: Two years and eight months in prison
WHAT THE JUDGE SAID: “Ultimately, the people of Deeside and the police do deserve and will get some respite from your offending.”
NAME: Ricci Harvey
AGE: 30
DATE: Friday, March 12
COURT: Mold Crown Court
CRIME: Assaulting a police officer
SENTENCE: Four months added to his current prison sentence
WHAT THE JUDGE SAID: “Never be tempted to do anything like this again.”

SENTENCE: 16 months in jail and a four-year restraining order against his ex-partner

CRIME: Kidnap and escaping custody
SENTENCE: Five years and four months in prison
WHAT THE JUDGE SAID: "It was a terrifying ordeal for her - she believed her life was in danger.”

AGE: 34
DATE: Tuesday, March 16
COURT: Mold Crown Court
CRIME: Failing to comply with sexual harm prevention order
SENTENCE: 16 months in prison
WHAT THE JUDGE SAID: “It’s clear the lady didn’t know you were a convicted sex offender. She felt sorry for you.”
A WREXHAM sex offender has been jailed after he failed to tell police about his circumstances.

AGE: 44

CRIME: Indecent assault
SENTENCE: 18 months in prison. Must also sign onto sex offenders register.

SENTENCE: 41 months in prison and banned from entering Ruthin for five years
WHAT THE JUDGE SAID: “You kept many hundreds of the photos you took. You have brought total disgrace on yourself."

CRIME: Assault and breach of a restraining order
SENTENCE: 22 months in prison and banned from entering Holyhead for five years.
WHAT THE JUDGE SAID: “This relationship is totally toxic.”
A MAN who 'repeatedly' stabbed his ex-partner with a fork has been jailed.
NAME: Scott Simmonds
AGE: 31
DATE: Friday, March 19
COURT: Mold Magistrates Court
CRIME: Racially aggravated assault
SENTENCE: 18 months in prison and banned from Hot Stuff Chinese Takeaway in Deeside
WHAT THE JUDGE SAID: “In the last couple of years, you have been more than a complete public nuisance.”

SENTENCE: 15 years in prison each
WHAT THE JUDGE SAID: "The three of you played crucial roles in a very sophisticated enterprise with huge quantities of class A drugs sent from Spain and the Netherlands into this country.”

CRIME: Public nuisance
SENTENCE: Eight months on top of ongoing prison sentence
NAME: Evan Williams
AGE: 47
DATE: Tuesday, March 23
COURT: Caernarfon Crown Court
CRIME: Wounding
SENTENCE: 21 months in prison
WHAT THE JUDGE SAID: Judge Rhys Rowlands described the attack as “vicious” and unprovoked.
