TOFT Cricket Club organisers are gearing up for life after lockdown.

Plans are being put in place for the reopening of the clubhouse, and a number of events are already lined up with more to be announced - all subject to the easing of the government Covid-19 restrictions allowing.

The Taverners team, the charitable arm of Toft Cricket Club who raise money to organise a free annual day out for Knutsford’s over 70s, are set to 'open the batting'.

"We are planning on reopening the club on Thursday, April 15, with our Taverners beginning the season in style with the first game," says a club statement.

"This will also kick off our local community fundraising for the Taverners trip to Lytham St Annes later in the summer!

"The barbecue will be on, bar open and outside seating available. All welcome!"
