PLANS have been submitted to transform Wilmslow's former Paperchase store into a chicken restaurant with a rooftop bar.

The international stationery company, which recently announced it is on the brink of administration, closed its doors at its Water Lane premises back in

August 2019.

The property has remained empty for almost 18 months since then, but under the plans submitted to Cheshire East Council on January 18, it would be

given a new lease of life.

Firat Altindag, who has made the change the use application, wants to bring about a change of use to an 'authentic chicken cafe and restaurant'.

It states: "After the Covid-19 situation, he would like to provide healthy and fresh food for clients with cafe-restaurant-takeaway and collection."

Also included in the plans, which cover both the ground and first floor of the building, are an elevated roof top bar area towards the rear.

If approved, the new hospitality business could provide up to nine jobs.

The proposed opening hours are 12pm until 11pm Monday to Saturday and 1pm to 11pm on Sunday and Bank Holidays.

Comments about the proposal need to be made to Cheshire East Council by February 17, with a decision likely to be made by the middle of March.
