A MAN has been arrested following a search by police officers in Knutsford on Wednesday (January 13).

Cheshire Police confirmed they were in the Longridge area searching for a man identified as 21-year-old Callum Pope, who was wanted on a recall to prison.

A spokesman for the force said they are unable to provide any further information at this stage as to why he was being recalled.

Posting on social media yesterday, Knutsford Police said: "For anyone wondering about all the police activity on Longridge in Knutsford this morning, we can confirm officers were out looking for a man wanted on recall to prison.

"We’re happy to announce that the man has been arrested and is currently en-route back to jail."

A police spokesman told the Guardian: "The man was 21-year-old Callum Pope, of Longridge, Knutsford, all we can say is that he was wanted on recall to prison."
