A WOMAN has been fined for having a dog dangerously out of control.

Jodie Fairclough, of Upland Road, Thatto Heath pleaded guilty to the offence at Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates’ Court.

Fairclough, 27, admitted to being the owner of a dog, named Akita, which was dangerously out of control on Upland Road on September 19 last year.

The court imposed a Contingent Destruction Order on the animal.

A court sheet states that unless the dog is kept under proper control by being securely held on a lead by a person aged at least 16, being securely fitted with a muzzle to prevent it biting a person, it must be destroyed.

It adds the reason for the order is due to “an injury to another dog” and for “public safety”.

Fairclough was also fined £384, made to pay £400 in compensation, a victim surcharge of £34 and £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.

This makes a total of £903 to be paid.
