A WARRANT has been issued for the arrest of a woman from Liverpool after she failed to appear in court to face several drugs charges.

Richenda Kane, 47, of Empress Road, Kensington, was due at Stockport Magistrates Court on Monday (January 11) charged with smuggling a quantity of class A and C drugs and mobile phones into HMP Styal.

The charges date back to September 22 2019 when it is alleged Kane was found with heroin, crack cocaine and Pregabalin tablets (class C) with the intent to supply them to an inmate.

Two mobile phones as well a sim card are also allegedly been found in Kane's possession at the time she was stopped.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "I can confirm that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Richenda Kane, aged 47, of Empress Road in Kensington, Liverpool, after she failed to attend Stockport Magistrates Court on 11 January.

"Kane remains outstanding at this time."
