A NORTHWICH father has really won himself some 'Daddy points' after building an amazing snowman for his delighted daughter.

After waking up to a blanket of snow on Monday morning, Chris Oldfield from Barnton was asked by two-year-old Frozen fan Violet to make her an Olaf.

His partner, Sophie Ormsby, describes Chris, who a road worker by trade, as a perfectionist and once he'd started, had to make sure he got it just right.

She said: "Violet's only just two, so it's her first Christmas being able to talk properly.

"Frozen is her favourite film and when Chris suggested building a snowman, she just said, 'build an Olaf Daddy'.

"So he just took that as a challenge.

"Ironically, I'm actually a designer myself, but Chris is very handy and has done lots of renovations around the house.

"He's a bit of perfectionist."

After sharing photo's of the amazing piece of work on social media, many people questioned if it was real, such is the uncanny resemblance to the snowy character from the Frozen films.

"I had to show them photo's of Chris actually working on it to prove it was real," Sophie said.

"You can actually see him with the carving knife.

"So many people have said how amazing it is on Facebook.

"Loads of people have been asking whether he can go and build one for them too."

There is some disagreement between Sophie and Chris about how long it actually took, with truth likely to be somewhere between two and three hours.

Sophie added: "He said it was two hours, I say it was more like three.

"Violet actually came inside with me at one point and we were having a hot chocolate, watching him finish it.

"As I said, he's just a perfectionist and doesn't like anything out of place.

"The buttons on the snowman were actually plastic caps from bottles of Prosecco.

"And for the eyes, we used Giant Chocolate Buttons.

"The only thing we were a bit gutted about was that we didn't have a great carrot."

With more snow forecast on Wednesday and Thursday, it is possible Chris might find himself and his talents in demand.

"Violet's not been out in the snow before," added Sophie.

"As soon as he finished Olaf, she said 'Elsa now Daddy'.

"So I guess he might find himself busy in the garden if it snows again.

"It's just nice isn't it, after such a rubbish year, to end it on such a nice, positive note.

"Chris is loving all the compliments he's been getting."
