IMPROVING cycling provision in Knutsford for residents the key priority for one of the town's Cheshire East councillors in 2021.

The LDRS has spoken to Conservative Cllr Tony Dean, who said: “One of the things I want to do is to get a share of the money from Cheshire East to improve cycling and walking in towns.

“There’s all kinds of things that will help the ability cycle around Knutsford. The other conundrum is the new managed highway system.

“The bad news is that those which are not main routes like cul-de-sacs have very little chance of being repaired — for example Beeston Drive is in a terrible way.

“I am trying to make sure we get suburban cul-de-sacs maintained when they need mending.

"The only other thing is the big one — to try to generally raise awareness of what people need to do to reduce their carbon footprint. We need to be carbon neutral in this country.”
