A NEW golf facility has opened in Knutsford.

Farmers Brian and Steve Coutts have built a driving range on their land in Ollerton, with an adventure golf course and par three course still to come.

The 19-bay facility is described as having the newest and most accurate driving range technology of its kind.

You can play against your friends, you can play four courses virtually, including St Andrew’s.

A cafe will be opening in the new year.

Explaining the move into the state-of-the-art golf provision, the Coutts brothers say on their website: “We are both local farmers who have enjoyed working on our family dairy farm for many years.

‘The Beeches Farm’ in Ollerton was purchased by our grandfather, Norman, in 1927 and has remained in our family to this day.

“Our father, Alan, was always passionate about his Ayrshire cows and had enormous pride in his pedigree herd and also in the farm.

“There was a need for us to consider diversification into another non-farming project in order to support the farm, which is so important to our family.

“We are both keen sportsmen, and therefore, it seemed appropriate to use some of our land to develop a facility that we too could be proud of and fitting that we should call our facility ‘The Beeches Golf’.
