HOLMES Chapel’s Jake Wilson is among the Vale Royal athletes to have been breaking the club’s cross country records over the past few months – not allowing Covid-19 to hold him back.
One of the records he held has also been broken by a clubmate.
Robbie Price’s 9mins 17.98secs in an under 15s 3000m in Dagenham broke the record that Jake had record set last year.
Now in the lower end of the higher age band, Jake knocked one second off Elliot Bowker’s under 17s 3000m record with a run of 8mins 34.57secs at a Trafford gold standard meeting.
At the same event, Will Ashfield broke Elliot’s under 15s 1500m record by two seconds with 3mins 55.79secs.
Under 17s runner Holly Weedall broke Amy Hinchly’s 3000m record from 2013 by more than 10 seconds with her time of 9mins 43.82secs.
