KNUTSFORD FC will be aiming to return to action over the festive period.

The Reds, who have only played two league games this season due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic and the weather, are scheduled to visit Congleton Town Reserves on Monday, kick-off 2pm.

Knutsford's home date with Lostock Gralam at the weekend was postponed, leaving them having not played since the 2-0 home success over Warrington side Greenalls Padgate St Oswalds on October 24.

While the lowly Reds have played only twice, Cheshire Football League rivals have played as many as nine games while their next opponents fourth-placed Congleton Town Reserves have made it out on to the field six times.

Neighbours Egerton also missed out on the action at the weekend, with their clash with Winstanley Warriors postponed.

Their next outing will come in the Cheshire FA Amateur Cup first round on Saturday, January 2 at Holmes Chapel.

Knutsford are slated to play at the second-round stage on the same day against Poynton FC at Manchester Road.
