THE 2021 High Legh 10k has been cancelled amid continuing uncertainty around safety.
The Robert Moffat Memorial 12th Anniversary High Legh 10k Race, organised by High Legh Community Association and Lymm Runners, was scheduled to take place on Sunday, February 28, but the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has left the organisers in no doubt over the decision.
Nick Gerrard, race committee chairman, said: "Over the past few months we have worked hard to find ways to stage the race safely for the runners, marshals and spectators whose safety is our paramount consideration.
"However, as things stand, it isn’t going to be possible to meet these goals with any certainty or deliver the quality of event that so many have enjoyed over the years.
"We know how disappointing this is, but we are sure everyone will understand why this decision has been made and we thank you for your continued support."
