HOLMES Chapel resident John Snell is looking forward to returning to his favourite exercise classes.

John, 77, has been a member at Everybody Sport and Recreation for four years, and attends classes at Holmes Chapel Community Centre, Crewe Lifestyle Centre and Congleton Leisure Centre on a weekly basis.

He said it was important for him to keep fit and he loved the social side of having an Everybody membership.

John started attending classes as he felt lonely and was adjusting to a new life.

He realised he needed to socialise, and attending classes has been a life-changer for him over the past few years.

He said: “Attending the classes gave me a new lease of life, and I can’t imagine how I would be without them. I’m so grateful to the team and their support.”

During the first national lockdown John struggled with loneliness, and missed the socialising which came with attending classes and visiting leisure centres.

When he heard the news that his Move it or Lose it class was starting again he was elated.

He missed the classes during the second lockdown, and is now waiting to receive a vaccine so he can return to his favourite classes. He said: “I miss everything. Patience is a virtue and my wait is on.”
