APPRENTICES Ellen Conroy, Andrew Badrock and Sammy Rodgers have won top awards from Manchester-based training provider The Apprentice Academy.

The trio work for Wilmslow-based automotive solutions provider S&G Response, and received the Apprentice Star Award in the Academy’s Star Awards.

S&G operations director, Nick Stone, said: “We are proud of our association with the Apprentice Academy and are entering our fourth year in partnership.

“We are delighted with the progress made by our apprentices this year, in difficult circumstances.

“In the past 24 months we have fully established our apprentice partnership with The Apprentice Academy, with six graduating and being offered full-time employment and a further six apprentices currently taking their exams.

“We will be taking on a further four apprentices to start with us in January 2021.”

Alison Bagnall, managing director of The Apprentice Academy said: “The last few months has created working conditions never experienced before, with employees being quickly transitioned to a home working environment or being furloughed.

“The speed of change, innovation and resilience during this period has been incredible to see. S&G Response continued to run their apprenticeship programmes and didn’t put them on hold.”
