CHILDREN are to be invited to hunt for sugar mice in a sweet shop window where Christmas has come early.

Julia Chard from Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shoppe in King Street, Knutsford, is well-known for her imaginative and eye-catching window displays.

She usually creates her festive window display at the end of November, but decided to put this year’s together this week to help put a much-needed smile on people’s faces.

The window display has also been created in preparation for welcoming everyone back to the town centre when the second nationwide lockdown ends on December 2.

“I normally put the display in at the end of this month, but thought ‘let’s do it now’ to bring some Christmas cheer onto King Street,” she said.

“It’s great to see other businesses doing the same, and everyone is looking forward to inviting customers back into their businesses after lockdown ends.

“My window display is a fun children’s Christmas window, and I will be hiding some sugar mice in the window for a little competition asking children to find how many there are.

“I will be picking a winner the week before Christmas to win one of our Christmas hampers.”
