NEW coronavirus cases in Cheshire West and East have fallen over the last 24 hours.

A total of 318 new cases have been recorded in the two boroughs in the latest figures published today.

This is a drop of almost 100 from 416 new cases reported yesterday.

The news comes as a relief to the local community which had seen two days of figures going up.

In Cheshire West and Chester, there have been 193 new cases reported in the last 24 hours, whilst in Cheshire East 125 people have tested positive with the virus.

This takes the total number of people diagnosed with coronavirus in Northwich and Winsford to 7, 691.

In Knutsford and Middlewich, there have been 7, 771 cases recorded since the pandemic began.
