ALAN Beckett was unstoppable in a Styal Seniors four-club stableford.

His terrific haul of 42 points saw him romp home ahead of Derek O’Herlihy, 37, and Mike Hinde, Peter Christelow and Ted Marsden, all 35.

The Friday frolics at Styal saw Gareth Moorhouse on top with 22 points from Matt Mounthey 21 and Simon Gibson 19.

The Saturday stableford at Styal had division one led in by James Bennett with 40 points, four more than Mike Fenton and Graham Blower.

In division two Dave Foster was the main man with 39 from John Surtees, 38, and Chris Harris, Graham Jones, Matthew Richardson and Ian Moss, all 36.

A women's stableford at Styal was won with ease by Helen Billington with 37 points taking her well clear of Celia O’Donohue, 32, and Pam Higgins, 30.

The nine-hole winner was Joan Chapman after a card play-off on 13 from Enid Laverty, one more than Pat Millatt and Jenny Merren.

A singles stableford at Mottram Hall was won by Shok Mirza with 37 points, two more than Graham Webb, Ajay Jain, Michael Chrimes and Mark Richardson, all 35.

A midweek stableford at Prestbury had in-form Brian Purves in top spot with 41 points, one more than Philip Singh and Richard Goddard.

Eight birdies were recorded by Gareth Rydings with a fabulous score of 44pts in the latest stableford competition at Tytherington Golf Club.

It was a great score with the course playing very long due to soft conditions! He was closely followed in division one by Matt Atherton with 40 points.

Division two was won on 39pts by Terry Davenport on cpo, just edging out veteran Steve Sleath.

The women's stableford saw three tied on 31 points with Eileen Jones winning the cpo from Kirsty Radcliffe and Ewa Sidorczuk.

Tytherington’s midweek stableford was won by Brigg Simpson with an impressive 39 points, with Conor Molloy second with 38pts on cpo from John Tiernan and Liz Stott winning the women's with 30.
