PARTS of Cheshire have seen their coronavirus infection rate fall in the past week, new figures show.

Seven-day rolling data from Public Health England covers the week up to October 15, with coronavirus cases from the last four days excluded as the number can be revised.

The latest figures show that Cheshire West, including Northwich and Winsford, has seen its Covid-19 infection rate fall from 191.5 per 100,000 people in the week up to October 8 to 183.6 per 100,000 people.

That comes after 630 confirmed cases of coronavirus across the borough in the seven days up to October 15, compared to 657 one week earlier.

Meanwhile, Cheshire East’s infection rate has remained the same for two weeks running at 167.6 per 100,000.

The borough, including Middlewich and Knutsford, had seen 644 confirmed cases of coronavirus in each of the weeks up to October 8 and 15.

Elsewhere in Cheshire, Warrington’s weekly infection rate has fallen from 347.1 to 340.9 per 100,000 people, while Halton’s has also dropped from 399.5 to 338.5 in a week.

Other parts of the north west have also seen their infection rates fall, including Liverpool from 684.7 to 606.6 per 100,000 people, and Manchester from 511.5 to 424.7 over the same period.

However, some areas continue to see big increases in their infection rate, such as Blackburn with Darwen’s rise from 382.1 to 513.7 per 100,000 people.

Here is the full list of coronavirus infection rates for boroughs across England.
