REMEMBRANCE Day is just weeks away and with many commemorative events sadly cancelled across the region this year due to the ongoing pandemic, we want to help honour those who have served their country in times of war.
We are planning to run a special feature in the Guardian to pay tribute not just to our First World War and Second World War heroes but to anyone who has fought, made sacrifices or assisted on the frontline during any armed conflict up to present day.
And we would like you to let us know about your relatives that you are most proud of.
To take part, all you need to do is use the contact form below to send in a photograph, preferably in uniform, of your loved one with the following details:
- Their name
- The area of Northwich, Winsford, Middlewich, Knutsford or Wilmslow they are/were from
- Their age now (if they are still alive) and age when they served if that is known
- Please also let us know what war they served in and their area of responsibility
- Any other information you can share – such as any particular battle they were involved in, if they were honoured for their bravery or simply how inspirational they have been to you – would also be welcome where possible.
The closing date for entries is Monday, October 26.
Help us honour your war heroes on Remembrance Day
Please include their name, the area they are/were from, their age now (if they are still alive) and age when they served if known, as well as what conflict they served in and area of responsibility.
