PHOTOGRAPHER Andy White captured a memorable image of a stag emerging from the mist at Tatton Park during an early morning visit.

Andy, a self-employed HGV driver, is a semi-professional photographer, whose main interest is landscapes.

He has visited Tatton Park many times, but his visit on Sunday was his first with his camera, with the aim of recording the rutting season.

He captured young stags rutting, but one of the most memorable images was a stag emerging out of the mist.

Knutsford Guardian:

Andy, from Rainhill, said: “I got there at about 6.30am just before sunrise, and headed down towards the lakes, which is where I got most of my pictures from.

“There was very patchy mist – you could barely see the other side of the lake – it was absolutely fantastic conditions.

“I planned to photograph the deer as it's rutting season now, and although I did capture a couple of young stags rutting it wasn't quite the picture I had in mind.

“The shot of the stag coming out of the mist was a case of being in the right place at the right time.

“He ran straight through my line of sight, crossing the path in front of me, and I happened to be close enough to get a good shot of the stag and also capture the surrounding mist at its heaviest.”

Knutsford Guardian:

“I like the picture because of the contrast between the stag and the misty background.

“I was there until about 9.30am, took about 200 pictures and was really pleased with the results.”
