MORE than 400 trees were planted on Sunday at Dark Valley Dingle by Goostrey Wildlife Project.
Event organiser Paul Kemsley said: “More than 120 people, spread throughout the day, came to enjoy the sunshine and do their bit for wildlife.
“We managed to plant over 400 trees in total, and I would like to express thanks to Blackden Hall, Jodrell Bank Farm and to Sibelco and the Co-op for sponsoring the event.
“I have been enormously encouraged by the wildlife that has already started to make homes at Swanwick Hall/Turf Fields, where our previous years’ efforts have been concentrated, and also by the interest shown by all the young people.
“So many people have commented this year that they are very grateful for the nature and wildlife that they have discovered on their doorstep.”
