A YEAR group at a Knutsford primary school is self-isolating following a confirmed case of coronavirus.

Year two children at St Vincent’s Catholic Primary School are now self-isolating until Friday, October 9 – 14 days from when they last had contact with the person who has tested positive for Covid-19.

In a letter sent to parents today, September 28, headteacher Bernadette Groarke said: “Your child has been identified as a close contact of a confirmed case of Covid-19.

“Other members of your household can continue normal activities provided you do not develop symptoms of Covid-19 within the 14 day self-isolation period.”

Children who develop symptoms of Covid-19 during the self-isolation period must then remain at home for 10 days from when their symptoms began, the letter adds.

Other members of the household would also have to self-isolate for 14 days from that date.

It comes as two year groups have already been sent home from Knutsford Academy to self-isolate this month.

Students in year 11 are self-isolating until tomorrow, while year 10 students must stay at home until Friday, following two confirmed Covid-19 cases at the school.
