THREE self check-in kiosks are being introduced by East Cheshire NHS Trust for outpatients at Macclesfield Hospital.

Two of the kiosks, which come into operation from Monday, September 28, are located at the entrance to the outpatients department.

A third is situated inside the department opposite the reception desk.

The kiosks are aimed at helping with patient flow by reducing queue times and providing a faster check-in process.

Receptionists will still be available to check in patients who are unable to use the automated kiosks. Volunteers will also be on hand to provide assistance to patients.

In line with national guidance, all infection prevention and control measures including sanitising, face coverings/face masks and cleaning will be in place.

Once a patient checks in they will be directed to the appropriate waiting area.

Vicky Bond, operational manager for outpatients at East Cheshire NHS Trust said: “Feedback from a successful trial has confirmed the benefits, ease of use and simplicity of self check-in kiosks.

“We are now hoping to roll further kiosks out across the site.”
