FOUR decades of change and challenge has kept a Warrington chemist from ever being bored in his job.

Vinny Craddock has been praised for his 40 years of service by waste management company CSG at its Cadishead facility.

The 58-year-old originally started as a quality control chemist when the site was Lancashire Tar Distillers.

But over the course of his career, he has gained experience handling a wide range of waste materials, allowing his role to adapt.

“My current role involves receiving and testing acids, alkalis, cyanides and other liquid and solid materials that come onto the site so they can be safely processed,” Vinny said.

“Over the years, the business environment has changed and waste treatment has become increasingly important.

“As my work life has constantly changed, I have never become bored and I have thoroughly enjoyed the challenges that work presented.”

Dave Lawson, plant manager at the Cadishead site, praised Vinny for his efforts over the past four decades and says that his has become part of the family.

He said: “Vinny has been at the forefront of our Cadishead site team during a vast variety of changes over the years.

“He has worked on every area of the plant and is a wealth of knowledge and support to the rest of the site team.

“Vinny is a valuable and much appreciated part of our Cadishead family.”

Managing director of CSG Neil Richards added: “We have a saying at CSG – it is all about the people – and Vinny is one of those people who have put their life and soul into the business.

“He is one of the characters who are woven into the fabric of our company and fundamental to its success.

“We are very proud to have people like Vinny here at CSG.”
