EXCITED children picked fresh vegetables from their school allotment and made their own soup.
Year 6 pupils at the Grange Community Nursery and Primary School in Winsford organised and ran a takeaway service.
The children have been learning about the importance of healthy eating as part of their design and technology curriculum.
Youngsters researched seasonal vegetables and discovered various ways of adding flavour to food as opposed to using artificial flavourings.
They were also fascinated to investigate the difference between herbs and spices.

Children pick fresh vegetables from their school allotment
Children picked homegrown potatoes and leeks from the school allotment and used the vegetables to form the base for their soup.
The class then decided to garnish their soup with freshly chopped dill and cream.
Pupils harvested potatoes they had planted a few months earlier
Pupils were delighted with their tasty soup and shared it with family and staff, who were very impressed with the seasoning and flavour that the children had created.
Sara Albiston, Head of School, said: “This is just another example of how, at Grange, we continually provide opportunities for our children to bring learning to life.
"The children were delighted to harvest the vegetables which they had planted only a few months earlier. We have some very talented chefs within our school community."
