"Thirteen years ago my beautiful mum departed this mortal coil after an incredibly courageous battle with cancer," said Tess, 41. "Since then I've known so many friends lose loved ones and one thing that has really stood out is the support received from charities like Macmillan that has eased some of the most difficult times."

Tess has teamed up with friend Rebecca Page to hold a charity event to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support at 2pm on Sunday, September 27 at The King's Lock.

"My mum was the most amazing person ever," said Tess, who has the support of partner Cllr Jonathan Parry and daughter Rosie, 13, a pupil at Middlewich High School.

"Mum died two weeks after Rosie was born and is called Rosie Isabella Joy after my mum.
