KNUTSFORD Mayor Cllr Andrew Malloy is hoping to be in peak condition for a major fundraising event next month.
On Sunday, October 4 Cllr Malloy and his wife, Mayoress Nicole Malloy, will be embarking on their second and final active fundraising event, the Mayor’s Three Peak Challenge.
This follows their successful fundraising Cycle Tour of East Cheshire completed in September 2019, and will be one of the Mayor’s final fundraising events where he is raising funds for a starter fund for a new skate park and to support local youth sports and leisure groups.
The Mayor and Mayoress will be joined by four other walkers on a 15 to 20-mile walk/hike ascending Teggs Nose, Shutlingsloe and Shining Tor.
This challenge is very close to the Mayor’s heart as his father, who was an avid hiker, lost his life in a fall in Snowdonia in 2005.
