WAITING restrictions are set to be introduced on a Middlewich junction to improve road safety by a major route.
Double yellow lines are due to be painted at the junction of Booth Lane and Wardle Mews – opposite the King’s Lock.
The lines are set to be painted on both sides of Wardle Mews from the junction to the nearest dropped kerbs.
Cheshire East Council’s proposal was presented to Middlewich Town Council’s external committee on Thursday, which gave the plan its support.

Cllr Mike Hunter, CEC member and town council chairman, told the committee that ‘keep clear’ lines are also set to be painted on Booth Lane for traffic turning right into Wardle Mews.
“We’ve had a few near misses,” he added.
