KNUTSFORD FC have returned to match action as preparations step up for the new league campaign.

They won their first game under new manager Nick Eaton 3-1 at Kidsgrove Athletic and followed up that friendly with a home 1-1 draw against Alsager Town.

A fantastic strike from new signing James Manson ensured the Reds remain unbeaten so far.

Only two players have featured in the starting line up from last season.

Eaton and his team have been busy recruiting players and rebuilding the side with many new faces coming to Manchester Road.

The club are following Government/FA/National League System guidance and instructions in respect to coronavirus ‘risk’ and have implemented control measures and rules to mitigate risk as far as is possible.

Club chairman Jimmy Evans said the club receives frequent updates, with more than 200 pages of guidance and instructions received so far.

“We are taking a cautious and considered approach to the unique Covid-19 situation, putting health and safety front and centre and have asked the Cheshire League for a provisional October 3 start to the 2020-2021 season,” said Evans.

The FA are now allowing fans back at matches though under strict controls.
