A SEAGULL had to be rescued from a canal in Middlewich on Monday evening.
Firefighters were sent out to the Trent and Mersey Canal, near Booth Lane, at 6.15pm following reports of a seagull with a stuck wing.
Two fire engines were sent out from Winsford and Lymm, along with a line rescue unit and a swift water team.

The swift water team entered the water and rescued the distressed seagull, before handing it over to the RSPCA for treatment.
Crews were at the scene for around an hour.
