FOOTWAYS will be widened on several city centre streets from today to ensure social distancing.
The works will begin on the full length of Renfield Street, West George Street between Wellington Street and Renfield Street, Bath Street between Renfield Street and Wellington Street, West Regent Street at junctions with Hope Street, Union Street full length eastside and Oswald Street between Midland Street and Argyle Street.
A Glasgow City Council spokesman said: “In order to complete the measures parking and lane restrictions will be required on the above streets from 5am on Tuesday, August 11 for the duration of the implementation works.
“Delays are expected and drivers are advised to avoid the areas.”
