BREAD makers Warburtons has pledged thousands of pounds to 28 local charities in Bolton, to help support them during the ongoing Covid-19 crisis.
In addition to increasing its regular product donations around the Runcorn Depot to those in need, Warburtons has also offered financial donations to smaller, independent local charities – including Friends for Leisure, Bolton Mountain Rescue Team and the Blackrod Sports and Community Centre – as they navigate these uncertain times.
Through initial donations of between £400 - £5000 to individual charities, Warburtons hopes to help some way in reducing the strain on them and the people they help, supporting them as they continue to operate during the lockdown period and beyond.
Brett Warburton, Executive Director at Warburtons, said: “With so many people in our communities facing challenging times, organisations and charities across the country have been working tirelessly to provide vital support to those who need it the most.
“As a family business that has been supporting local communities for over 144 years, we recognise organisations like these are under pressure and in need of support. That’s why, through our community investment programme, Families Matter, we are trying to help with both financial and product donations, to support charities and families in the local area where we can.”
