NONE of the four hospital trusts in Cheshire recorded any additional coronavirus deaths in the latest 24-hour reporting period, according to NHS England data.

Figures released this afternoon (July 6) show that, as of 5pm yesterday, the county hospital death toll remained at 703.

The Countess of Chester Hospital has not reported an additional death of a patient testing positive for the virus for three days.

The trust – which covers both the Chester and Ellesmere Port hospital sites – has registered a total of 215 deaths.

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has recorded 211, East Cheshire NHS Trust 143, and Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust 134.

As of 4.05pm yesterday, the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Cheshire West and Chester stood at 1,941 – a rise of 14 in two days.

Across England, a further 15 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 28,904.

Patients were aged between 42 and 93 years-old. All patients had known underlying health conditions.

Today, 0 deaths are reported with no positive Covid-19 test result.
