FAMILIES raised almost £1,700 for the Remembering Nell Foundation by taking part in cycling challenges set by Goostrey resident Tony Taylor.
Tony organises the annual Goostrey Big Charity Bike Ride, and this year would have been its sixth year.
However it was cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic, so Tony invited people to do their own thing as family groups to raise money.
About 45 people paid £30 to take part in Tony’s Remembering Nell Cycle Challenge, and signed up for 75, 150, 200 or 250-mile challenges set by Tony.
The first four of the events were held to raise money for the Goostrey Scout Hut appeal.
Tony runs Active Adults Fitness for the over 60s, and this was the second year cyclists have raised money for the foundation, which was set up in memory of teenager Nell Jones, who died in the bomb attack at the Manchester Arena.
