WILMSLOW Albion FC has launched an online donations page in a bid to raise £500 to repair their pitch, which was damaged by cars doing 'donuts' on the grass.
Club members have spent weeks reseeding the pitch in readiness for the new season, only to have their efforts wrecked by two cars who raced over the pitch on Thursday evening, churning up the ground.
A club spokesman said: "After assessing the significant damage caused by last week's vandals, we urgently need support to repair our home pitch.
"We have invested the remaining of our budget into the restoration of the surface but need financial support to complete the rest of the groundwork.
"This is essential to ensuring the pitch is playable for the new season. Any donations, would be greatly appreciated by the committee, players and staff."
The appeal has raised £245 towards its target in less than a day, and anyone who would like to support the club can donate here
