CHESHIRE West and Chester Council has provided an update as to when it will reopen Winsford Library.

The library closed its doors to the public on March 20 as the coronavirus lockdown came into force.

But with restrictions being lifted in recent weeks, and hospitality businesses set to reopen this weekend, the council has now revealed when the library is expected to reopen.

The council says that plans are now in place for Winsford Library to reopen safely on Monday, July 13 with revised temporary opening hours.

Northwich Library will also reopen on the same day, with a further five libraries in the borough set to be reviewed two weeks later.

Cllr Karen Shore, deputy council leader and cabinet member for environment, highways and strategic transport, said: “We are now able to reopen more of our community services in a phased, controlled and safe manner.

“It’s great to see more people being able to get out and about again, which will help everyone’s health and wellbeing.

“I am confident we will be able to reopen more of our services across the borough in the coming weeks.

“In everything we are planning, it is important we get the right balance of easing restrictions and protecting health.”
