FUN educational sessions for young people and families set in Delamere Forest have ended for the foreseeable future.
Forest Explorers also hosts events and birthday parties in the forest, as well as guided walks and bushcraft workshops.
But these will not take place until September at the earliest, it has been confirmed, due to the risk still posed by coronavirus.
On its Facebook page, Forest Explorers said: “We have received lots of messages since the new government information was released asking us if we will be reopening.
“Sadly, the answer is no – we will not be reopening until September.
“We are sorry to disappoint so many people, however we do not think the time is right.
“The virus is still around and our staff all have vulnerable people within their family groups.
“We also still can't meet in large enough groups to cover our costs, so coming back at this time would mean we would be less likely to survive financially.
“The best thing for us to do is sit tight and see what September brings.”
Despite this, Forest Explorers is asking families to stay in touch and share their enjoyment of Delamere Forest, which remains open to the public.
It added: “We are still here though, and the main forest is now open.
“We love hearing what you have been up to, seeing your photos and keeping in touch with you all.
“Thank you everyone for all your love and support – we couldn’t wish for better explorers and we can't wait to see you again.”
