THERE'S going to be a Rumble In the Jungle in Holmes Chapel next month.

For many years Holmes Chapel ran a summer event in the village called Rumble in the Jungle supported by youth organisations, Scouting and Girl Guiding groups, Hermitage and Holmes Chapel Primary Schools and many parents.

Following the success of Goostrey Village and the Love Goostrey scarecrow competition in April and May, Dane Sound Radio is looking to organise Rumble In The Jungle for Holmes Chapel in July with support and help from families, businesses and schools.

The aim is to have traditional animal exhibits and decorations for homes or businesses, with a Rumble Map for people to find all the creations in the village and vote for their favourites, with prizes up for grabs.

In addition a sponsored walk is planned around the village to raise funds for Chester Zoo, following government guidelines.

A Dane Sound spokesman said: "It's great fun and a chance to create and design an animal from all your lockdown arts and crafts materials and recyclables at home.

"Use your imagination, from a simple drawing in the window to a spider on the roof or a giraffe head above Morrey’s."

All money raised will be donated to the Save Our Zoo campaign by Chester Zoo. The displays will be on show from July 6 to August 14.
