POLICE are looking into an unauthorised encampment at a park on Ryleys Lane in Alderley Edge, the second at the park in a few days.

At about 6.30pm on Sunday officers received reports of an unauthorised encampment at a park on Ryleys Lane.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “Officers attended the scene and subsequently issued a section 61 notice ordering the occupants to leave the site by 11am on Tuesday, June 23, to which they complied.”

At 7.30pm on Monday police were called to reports of a disturbance at Alderley Park, a residential area.

The spokesman said that on arrival at the scene officers discovered a number of caravans were attempting to access the site, and were being blocked by local residents.

The spokesman added: “Following discussions between both parties the occupants of the caravans agreed to leave the site.

“Officers have also received reports of an assault at the site, which is being investigated.”

The spokesman added that the police were aware of a second unauthorised encampment at the park at Ryleys Lane, and officers were ‘addressing this matter’.
