WARRINGTON'S artisan sourdough pizza company, Ruddies, completely sold out on their first day of home deliveries.

Ruddies, established in 2018 by George Rudd, is popular and well established at artisan markets and festivals around the region.

George trained as a chef in the South of France before returning to his native Warrington and setting up Ruddies.

George makes authentic sourdough pizza.

His pizza bases comprise simply flour and water along with his long-established sourdough starter.

Unable to currently serve customers fresh and piping hot pizza from the familiar Ruddies gazebo, Ruddies are now delivering DIY bake-at-home kits with full, easy to follow instructions – perfect food for a lockdown feast, cooked from your own home.

George Rudd, founder of Ruddies said: “I’ve had customers contact me asking when and where we’ll be serving again so it seemed an obvious step to create a Ruddies sourdough pizza kit.

“We deliver these safely to the doorstep.

“Everything is authentic Italian, except that the kits are created in Fearnhead rather than Napoli! I use Italian sourced Italian 00 flour, DOP San Marzano tomatoes and Mozzarella cheese. The product is as natural and Italian as it gets. And completely additive free.

“Sourdough gives a unique crust and flavour you cannot replicate.”

“The response to the kits has been astonishing”, George continues. “We completely sold out last weekend and people are booking up in advance for the forthcoming weeks.”

Customer Sarah Brown commented: “Can’t wait to order the next kit. Really easy to make, all fresh and the taste was delicious.”

  •  Ruddies pizza kits start at only £8.90 each which includes delivery in the Warrington area bookings can be made through ruddies.co.uk.
