THE number of coronavirus-related deaths in each area of Knutsford and Wilmslow has been revealed.

The Office of National Statistics has updated the figures today, Friday, showing how many deaths related to Covid-19 have been registered for residents living in each area.

In the Knutsford and Wilmslow area, the figures show that 91 people have died with coronavirus mentioned as a cause on their death certificate over the past three months across the two towns and surrounding villages. Both towns have seen the majority of those deaths occuring in April.

Fifty-four deaths were registered in the Knutsford area with three in March, 37 in April and 14 in May. While across Wilmslow, 37 people died of coronavirus-related causes, with three deaths in March, 23 in April and 11 in May.

The figures are also split up by each 'Middle Layer Super Output Area', showing that Mobberley, Plumley and High Legh is the area across the two towns with the most coronavirus-related deaths with 24 overall - three recorded in March, 14 in April, and seven in May.

Cranage and Goostrey together as one area, along with Fulshaw Park and Lindow in Wilmslow recorded the fewest number of Covid-19 deaths. Both areas recorded two overall - one in April and one in May for each area. 

The overall number of deaths for the other areas across Knutsford and Wilmslow are: Chelford and Alderley Edge: 15; Holmes Chapel: 10; Knutsford North: nine; South Knutsford and Bexton: nine; Handforth and Dean Row: nine; Lacey green and Wilmslow Park: seven; and Wilmslow Town: four.
