Could you give marvellous Maxi the loving home he deserves?

NAME: Maxi

BREED: German Shepherd

AGE: 7

Maxi has found himself at Dogs Trust Merseyside after his owner sadly passed away and he is now looking for a quieter home where he can settle in at his own pace.

He has a lovely playful side and his favourite game is fetch – he has perfected dropping his toy for it to be thrown again!

He also loves tasty treats, so having some of his favourite foods to hand will really help him build a bond with his new owners and be great for positive training too.

Georgina Lowery, Manager at Dogs Trust Merseyside, says: “Maxi is a beautiful boy but he is a little bewildered by what has happened to him so we would love to find him his new forever home.

"He is really clever and will be great at learning new things and he would happily settle in to a family with children over the age of twelve.

“He can be a little unsure when he meets new dogs so we would love him to find a home in a quieter area with lots of open space so he can enjoy his walks without bumping into too many four-legged friends.”

Dogs Trust Merseyside is still closed to walk-in members of the public. However, the team can now also book appointments for those dogs who can’t be rehomed using the centre’s new ‘Handover at Home’ process.

Potential new owners will be able to meet the dog they are interested in rehoming at the centre in an outside play area, or in a spacious area that is separate from the main rehoming centre such as a training barn, whilst adhering to social distancing guidelines.
