KNUTSFORD Fire Station's Watch Manager raised more than £1,000 by taking on a 12-hour cycling marathon in full firefighting kit yesterday (Saturday).

Anthony Naylor started his Wattbike challenge in front of the fire station at 8am, and smashed his £500 target for the Firefighters Charity as he completed 154 miles over the 12 hours on the static bike.

He thanked everyone who dropped by the fire station to show their support and donate to the charity.

Knutsford Guardian:

He added: “All fire stations run fundraising events and charity car washes throughout the year to raise vital fundraising for the charity, which this year is expected to lose at least 50 per cent of its normal fundraising income due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“Due to this the charity is asking firefighters throughout the country to take part in the Fire Family challenge and think of a challenge to raise money.”
