WILMSLOW Animal Sanctuary is inviting people to show off their pets in its first Virtual Pet Show.

The sanctuary has had to cancel or postpone a number of fundraising and celebratory events planned for the spring and early summer because of the coronavirus pandemic.

As a result it is coming up with new ideas for raising money to help keep going.

“We know you love to look at pictures of all the wonderful animals which have called the Animal Sanctuary home,” said sanctuary volunteer Nicola Foster.

“Now it’s time for you to share some photos of your furry friends in our first Virtual Pet Show, which runs from May 25 to June 5.

“There are 17 categories to choose from, so you’re sure to be able to find one for your best friend.

“Entries are £2.50 each and you can enter as many times as you like. Once you have completed the transaction send your picture of your furry companion(s) to the email address which will be sent to you after payment.

“This is a ‘Just for Fun’ contest and entries will be judged blind by the staff of the sanctuary.

“The winners of each category will then have a chance to win Best in Show.

“Winners will be announced on June 9. We will be posting some of the entries every day on our social media pages so keep an eye out for your pets.

“Winning pets will also receive a small prize and will be featured on our website and all our social media outlets.”
