THE Tatton Conservative Association has donated more than 600 items to frontline staff on the Covid-19 wards at Macclesfield Hospital.

The delivery included disposable drinks and snacks, and was funded by the members of the association, who wanted to show their gratitude to the frontline staff who struggle to get hydrated in the PPE they need to wear on the wards.

The delivery, which was organised by the Wilmslow Conservative councillors, was dropped off with Wilmslow resident Geraldine Kirkman.

Alongside co-ordinating the delivery of supplies to Macclesfield Hospital Geraldine works as a Senior Nurse on the Covid-19 ward at Macclesfield Hospital.

Association campaign manager Joely Garland said: “Our members are passionate about supporting and donating to local organisations and charities.

“Earlier this month the association donated £450 worth of supplies – including over 950 cans and bottles, along with several hundred snacks – to be divided between Macclesfield Hospital, Cheshire East Hospice and Wythenshawe Hospital.

“We understand all the hard work and dedication of our NHS and frontline workers, across the UK and closer to home here in Cheshire, and are grateful to have been able to show our appreciation by donating to support frontline workers.”
