PHOTOGRAPHER Sarah King captured a series of tender moments as a family welcomed baby Theo.

Theo was born into the Sheppard family from Knutsford this month at Wythenshawe Hospital, and two weeks on was photographed by Sarah for her Life in Lockdown exhibition.

Knutsford Guardian:

The pictures feature Theo’s parents Mariana and Jordan, his sisters Skyla and Sophia, and touching images of his grandparents looking at Theo through the window.

Knutsford Guardian:

Sarah said: “I had photographed Mariana in lockdown when she was pregnant, and was honoured to follow up on this photo shoot with the newborn in lockdown when baby Theo was born.

Knutsford Guardian:

“I captured these tender first moments through the window, and other images include the grandparents seeing their newborn grandson through the window.

Knutsford Guardian:

“This was an incredibly moving photo shoot for me. When grandma Pam from Knutsford arrived to see her grandson she welled up in tears.

Knutsford Guardian:

“Later when I was editing this shoot I too was in tears, imagining how much she would have wanted to hold her grandson, but this is not possible at this time in our lives with the risk of the coronavirus.

Knutsford Guardian:

“Grandad Chris and his wife, who the children call Mimi, are from Prestbury, and also came to see little baby Theo though the glass on another window.

Knutsford Guardian:

“Everyone was separated so far away but still connected in spirit.

Knutsford Guardian:

This was not the usual family gathering and celebration for a newborn, but there was still joy on their faces to see their grandchild, even though glass.”

Knutsford Guardian:

Mariana said: "We never imagined having a baby during a pandemic and the consequences that followed with family and friends not being able to visit our new born baby.

Knutsford Guardian:

"At the same time we have been overwhelmed with people’s kindness who have still taken the time to drop off meals, presents and cards at our doorstep and coming to see baby Theo at the window.

"We would also like to thank Sarah for capturing some amazing photos that will provide valuable memories for years to come."

The Life in Lockdown exhibition, featuring Knutsford people, pets and teddies, can be viewed at sarahjanekingphotography.com, and is raising money for the Cheshire Community Foundation.
