EIGHT houses are earmarked for land on Adlington Road in Wilmslow.

The semi-detached and detached properties would be built following the demolition of the existing house on the site.

Swailes Homes is seeking planning approval for the development from Cheshire East Council.

The application also uses part of the existing rear garden of 33 Adlington Road.

A report with the application said the site adjoined houses on all sides, and there would be no adverse impact on the character and appearance of the area, the amenity of neighbouring properties, trees or highway safety as a result of the proposals.

Access from Adlington Road would continue to be taken from the existing access with the driveway continuing to the rear of the site.

The existing house would be replaced by a pair of semi-detached dwellings with garages to the rear.

Two detached houses and two pairs of semi-detached houses would be built on the northern part of the site. The houses to the rear of the site would look out onto the new cul-de-sac.

The application site comprises a large detached house with driveway and parking and a large garden to the north.

It was originally two properties although it has been used as a single property in recent years.

The application site also adjoins the Bollin Park housing development granted planning permission in 2014 for 204 dwellings. Most of the properties are now complete.

Comments on the plans, reference 20/1933, can be submitted on the Cheshire East planning portal, until June 4.
