CALLS have been made for a united approach to dealing with the pandemic.

Vale of Clwyd MP Dr James Davies has claimed that about 800 constituents that have contacted his office regarding Covid-19, with "a significant proportion" of their concerns focused on differing approaches of Westminster and the Welsh parliament.

Speaking in a House of Commons debate on Covid-19 last week, Dr Davies raised the differences between England and Wales in the availability of testing and issues with the Welsh volunteering system as well as delays in vulnerable people receiving 'shielding' letters and the inability of to people to access delivery slots from supermarket chains.

He said: “I welcome the generous package that the Government have introduced to support individuals and businesses.

"In such difficult times as these, a united approach across our country is vital, and regrettably, much of my time over the last several weeks has been spent dealing with confusion and anxiety where that has not been the case.”
