PSYCHADELLIC indie trio Déjà Vega are the latest band to join the online phenomenon that is Tim’s Twitter Listening Party, with their debut album being showcased tonight.

The Winsford three-piece are ‘buzzing’ to have been asked to take part in the Twitter party hosted by The Charlatans singer Tim Burgess.

From 6pm, vocalist and guitarist Jack Fearon, drummer Tom Webster and bassist Mike Newton will be sharing their memories around writing, recording and playing the songs from the eponymously titled album.

Released last October by Sister 9 Recordings, the 11-track album sold out its first vinyl pressing in a week, and its sleeve artwork was designed by Brian Cannon the man behind some of the music world’s most iconic album covers including Oasis’ Definitely Maybe and The Verve’s This Is Music.

Jack said: “The Charlatans invited us to play at North by Northwich two years ago and because Tim’s listening parties have been one of the best things about lockdown we decided we’d host one of our own.

“And then Tim saw this on Twitter and he got in touch to invite us to be part of his listening party. We’re absolutely buzzing about it.”

The band had just finished touring their first album in February and were working on their second when the Government announced lockdown restrictions.

Jack said: “We were supposed to be in the studio, mixing and mastering the new album while all this has been going on.

“It’s been hard not being able to get together to rehearse but we’ve all been doing different bits. We’ve been keeping in touch with each other and kicking song ideas about. It’s actually been quite nice to have that time in lockdown just to think about things more creatively.”

It’s been an auspicious few year for the band who’ve netted high profile slots at festivals such as Kendal Calling and have supported The Wonderstuff on tour. As well as The Charlatan’s North by Northwich festival in 2018, they were also part of last year’s Dead Dead Good Festival in Northwich.

Their last single release Who We Are has been on heavy rotation on stations such as 6 Music and XFM, and has been described by Steve Lamacq as ‘like Doves if they’d gone hardcore’.

‪Before lockdown they’d booked their biggest tour yet for late October and dates are still in place but the band are awaiting confirmation before making a formal announcement. For more information about upcoming gigs and how to get hold of their album Déjà Vega, follow them on Facebook or Twitter.
